AMC has released a new trailer for The Walking Dead season 10, which previews the upcoming midseason finale. The episode, titled The World Before, looks to be setting up some major plot threads that will be pulled during the second half of the season. What's going on with that young Whisperer girl? Are Carol and Darryl going to fight? What's going to happen to Michonne? Tons of questions, precious few answers.

The teaser doesn't give away too much, but it gives us a look at the disparate storylines and how they're going to play out heading into the midseason break. We see Carol taking a tip from a Whisperer, which is something Darryl doesn't approve of. There are some clever and eyebrow-raising moments of violence. We also get a healthy dose of Michonne here which is fitting, since her run on the series will be coming to an end very soon. While it hasn't been revealed precisely when, or how, that will happen, Michnonne's days are numbered.

The World Before centers on a fight that causes tensions in Oceanside. Meanwhile, The Alexandrians set out on a high-stakes mission. While it was assumed in the past when an actor was going to leave the show, they would be killed, that hasn't always been the case in recent history. As such, Danai Gurira very well may live on in this universe following her departure from the flagship series. Executive producer Denise Huth previously spoke about her departure in an interview Radio Times.

"To send a character off the show, and [decide] how we wanted to do that... I know Angela [Kang] and the writers spent a lot of time discussing it in the build-up to this season. It is tricky. It's a very difficult thing to do. I think it's going to be great, I think it will ultimately be very satisfying and also raise a whole bunch of other questions."

It's, overall, an interesting time for, not just the main show, but the ever-expanding franchise that is The Walking Dead. Ratings for the main show continue to decline, but that hasn't stopped AMC from hatching some lofty plans for the future. Not only are they continuing with Fear the Walking Dead, but they also have a new spin-off series centered on new characters set to debut next year. Not only that, but creator Robert Kirkman recently ended the comic book series that the show is based on.

Aside from that, they have the trilogy of movies that will star Andrew Lincoln as Rick Grimes. At the very least, the first of those movies will be heading to theaters, which was surprisingly announced over the summer. The Walking Dead has already been renewed for season 11, so we've got, at the very least, one more year of zombie apocalypse tales to get through. The World Before airs Sunday, November 24 on AMC. Be sure to check out the trailer for yourself.
