When men attempting to purchase their land threaten Newt and Hannah, Newt turns to Curtis Wells' newest citizen, Sherif Owedn Kearny for help. Newt discovers that two men led by a man named Gibb, are involved. What he doesn't discover is that Gibb is acting as Mosby and Olivia's front man. After Gibb threatens Hannah, Sherriff Kearny pins a deputy badge on Newt. Mosby and Gigg come to blows over Hannah. Seeking revenge on Mosby, Gibb robs the Ambrosia Club.
