'Star Wars: The Clone Wars' Gets Liam Neeson as Qui-Gon Jinn

'The Phantom Menace' star will reprise his role in the January 28 episode of the Cartoon Network animated series.

Liam Neeson, who portrayed Qui-Gon Jinn in Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace, will return as that signature character in the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars for the Cartoon Network. Qui-Gon Jinn in Star Wars: The Clone Wars

Liam Neeson will voice Qui-Gon Jinn in the January 28 episode, Overlords, and the following February 11 episode as well. He appears in Obi-Wan Kenobi's visions in a three-episode arc that deals with Annakin Skywalker's plight leading into Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith. Here's what he had to say about coming back to the franchise:

Growing up, my heroes were cowboys; they were strong and mysterious, and it seemed like they always rode off into the sunset. For kids today, Star Wars has that same kind of magic. I really wanted to be a part of that."

Star Wars: The Clone Wars airs on Friday nights at 8:30 PM ET on the Cartoon Network.
