The series pulled in a network record 4.1 million viewers when it debuted on June 3, and the numbers have been holding up nicely ever since. The show has averaged 3.9 million viewers through its first four episode, and 5.3 million viewers after Live+7 numbers are factored in. Longmire is the highest-rated new cable drama of the year in total viewers and the 25-54 demographic.
Robert Taylor stars as Walt Longmire, the sheriff of Absaroka County, Wyoming who is trying to turn his life around after his wife's death one year prior. With the help of his new female deputy Vic (Katee Sackhoff) and his daughter Cady (Cassidy Freeman), the lawman becomes dedicated as ever to his job, even with a young deputy poised to run against him in the upcoming sheriff's election.
The series airs on Sunday nights at 10 PM ET on A&E. The Season 1 finale will air Sunday, August 5.
