It hasn't been a good week for Eric Stoltz. The on-line community has been atwitter about the actor's infamous five-week stint as Marty McFly in Back to The Future, a movie from which he was fired more than twenty-five years ago. As unseen footage of Stoltz's Marty McFly interpretation makes its way around the Internet with this week's release of Back to the Future: 25th Anniversary Trilogy Blu-ray, the actor has once again been fired from a whole new project. Yes, that right. Syfy has officially cancelled their Battlestar Galactica spin-off prequel Caprica, which Eric Stoltz headlines.

Entertainment Weekly broke the news, carrying a statement from Syfy stating, "The remaining first run episodes of Caprica - airing Tuesdays at 10/9c - will be removed from the schedule as of next Tuesday, November 2. These final five episodes of the season will be re-scheduled to air at a to be announced time in the first quarter of 2011, and will conclude the run of the series."

Executive Vice President of Syfy Mark Stern cited low ratings as the reason for cancellation, saying, ""We appreciate all the support that fans have shown for Caprica and are very proud of the producers, cast, writers and the rest of the amazing team that has been committed to this fine series. Unfortunately, despite its obvious quality, Caprica has not been able to build the audience necessary to justify a second season."

Another spin-off, Battlestar Galactica: Blood and Chrome, which was announced last week, is still being produced at this time.
