Yesterday, we reported that Steven Tyler left American Idol after serving as a judge for two seasons. As the saying goes, when it rains it pours, with today's news that Jennifer Lopez is also leaving the reality series, and Randy Jackson may also step away as a judge.

Jennifer Lopez announced she was leaving on American Idol host Ryan Seacrest's radio program this morning. The singer-actress was reportedly in negotiations to return yesterday, although she made her final decision this morning. Here's what she had to say on the radio program.

"I honestly feel like the time has come that I have to get back to doing the other things that I do that I've put kind of on hold."

Another report reveals that Randy Jackson, who has been a fixture on the show since its launch in 2002, may leave the judges table as well, although he plans to stick around as a mentor for the show's contestants. A source revealed that the producers want to "freshen things up" for the new season.

So, who will be replacing all of these departing judges? Insiders claim that songstress Mariah Carey is in negotiations to join American Idol. Here's what a source had to say about the singer joining the show.

"They are in serious talks with Mariah and it's very close to being a done deal," the source says. "And they will move Randy into a more mentoring role."

Other possible replacements for the remaining vacancies are American Idol Season 8 runner-up Adam Lambert and The Black Eyed Peas signer Stacy 'Fergie' Ferguson.
