Hot as lava Broadway star Josh Gad, headliner in Book of Mormon, has teamed up with Modern Family director Jason Winer and former Barack Obama speechwriter Jon Lovett to create the new NBC family comedy 1600 Penn.

This single-camera pilot will focus on a dysfunctional First Family during their extended stay at the White House. Josh Gad, Jason Winer, and Jon Lovett will all three executive produce this project, which does not have a set start date at this time.

Josh Gad is also writing and executive producing a second series for NBC about a family that is constantly on the road. That project is being set up through Will Ferrell and Adam McKay's Gary Sanchez production banner.
