Mystery Science Theater 3000 is celebrating its 30th anniversary in style. For the first time in 25 years, original host and MST3K creator Joel Hodgson will be back in the red jumpsuit as Joel Robinson. Alongside new MST3K host Jonah Heston (Jonah Ray), Joel, Jonah and the Bots will bring new movies and all new riffs and sketches live to the stage across U.S. cities this fall. Here's what Hodgson had to say about the upcoming tour in a statement.

"The craziest and most exciting thing for me is that I am putting on my old jumpsuit and will be riffing live, shoulder to shoulder with Jonah, Crow, and Tom Servo for two incredibly strange feature films. I'm going to have to go into training to get caught up to the skill level of Jonah and this new cast. If you saw last year's tour you have some idea just how talented these young movie riffers are."

The Mystery Science Theater 3000 Live 30th Anniversary Tour consists of two separate, completely unique shows. Anyone who want to see both shows will need to purchase two tickets, one for each show, as they are two totally different events. Each event will include all the things expected from an MST3K experience: a cheesy B-movie, hilarious riffing, wisecracking robots, silly sketches, plus, for the first time, Joel and Jonah riffing together side-by-side. Both shows feature movies never before seen on the MST3K series. The first show is The Brain, a Canadian science fiction suburban nightmare. The second is Deathstalker, a fun sword and sandal epic with a horrible monster.

It's been a great couple of years for MST3K fans. The show had been off the air for quite some time, but then Joel Hodgson came to the rescue and launched a Kickstarter to bring the cult favorite show back. Following the successful fundraising, Netflix stepped in to distribute the new season and, following a successful launch, the streaming service greenlit a second season, which is in production now. Netflix has yet to announce a launch date, but we can expect it in the not-too-distant future. The show's revival led to a 2017 live tour and now, this forthcoming celebration of three decades worth of movie riffing goodness.

Joel Hodgson created the show and initially launched it on a public access channel in Minnesota. Comedy Central eventually stepped in and brought Crow, Tom Servo Gypsy and Joel to the masses. Eventually, the series moved to the Sci-Fi Channel before being canceled. Fans managed to keep the series alive over the years and now, it appears as though it's not going anywhere anytime soon.

The MST3K Live 30th Anniversary Tour kicks off October 9 in Portland, ME and hits 29 cities to perform 42 shows across the U.S. Tickets for all dates go on sale Friday, June 8 via AXS.com and local venue box offices.
