Social media users of the internet rejoice, as Friends star Jennifer Aniston will now be there for you. The actress has finally joined Instagram and, to say the very least of it, the response has been a bit overwhelming. So much so that her newly created page crashed, making it difficult for fans to follow her. Effectively, Aniston joining Instagram was enough to break Instagram. Though, much of that surely had to do with the way in which she entered the social media fold.

The 50-year-old actress finally bit the bullet and got on board the social media train. As her inaugural Instagram post, Jennifer Aniston shared a photo with her former Friends castmates. The picture sees Aniston gathered together with David Schwimmer, Cortney Cox, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and Lisa Kudrow. Aniston provided the following, appropriate caption.

"And now we're Instagram friends too. Hi Instagram."

The bio for the profile simply reads, "My friends call me Jen." Given that Friends, all these years later, remains so wildly popular, the post went viral and Jennifer Aniston's follower count exploded. As of this writing, her account now has 3.5 million followers. Not bad for less than one day. The volume of traffic being directed to her profile led to reported issues from some users who were trying to follow the account. Instagram acknowledged the issues in a statement to E! News, which reads as follows.

"[We are] aware that some people are having issues following Jen's profile, the volume of interest is incredible! We are actively working on a solution and hope to have it up and running smoothly again shortly."

The post itself, as of this writing, has a truly impressive 5.6 million likes, and counting. Friends went off the air more than 15 years ago. However, thanks in large part to streaming, the show remains wildly popular and there is a great deal of demand for a reunion, or maybe even a revival series. Various, conflicting statements from the cast members over the years will tell you how likely such a prospect is or isn't. In any event, it doesn't seem to be happening anytime soon, as everyone seems to be rather busy with other projects. Aniston's husband, Justin Theroux, left a comment on the post, welcoming her to Instagram that simply reads, "Woot-woot" with a [raised hand emoji and a heart emoji.

Jennifer Aniston, for her part, is having quite the year. She starred alongside Adam Sandler in Netflix's Murder Myster, which went on to become a big success, with a sequel in early development. She's also set to star in The Morning Show, which is one of the flagship shows being produced for Apple TV+, Apple's upcoming streaming service, which launches next month. Now, Aniston also has a burgeoning social media empire to manage. Be sure to check out the Friends reunion post from Jennifer Aniston's Instagram for yourself.
